Using MM8 and Evernote …

Wow, great idea … I am following Chuck Frey’s twitter feed (chuckfrey) and it is a constant flow of ideas on innovation and mapping … today I saw a twit on a 3-27-2009 7-05-42 AMsuggestion to combine MindManager 8 and Evernote …

Figuring that could already be done, I played with the idea and voila … what a great combination … thanks to Greg Cimmarrusti who posed the question … as you can see from the screen shot, it is extremely easy to use the browser to operate your Evernote web version within the MindManager 8 environment … so at any time you simply go to the evernote icon on your map and click you are there …

You can also open directly to an entry … thus you have access again with a click or better yet, the ability to cut and paste highlighted info right into your map … imagine the possibilities with using this tool as a means to assemble a white paper or presentation from all the bits and pieces in your evernote universe … couple the new browser in MM8 and the robust clipping feature of the new Evernote and you have another powerful combination for your toolbox …..

Alan, thank you for looking into this. Now what I am thinking is can the map (as a graphic) go back to Evernote and have the ability in Evernote to pick out the words from the graphic.

Hello Alan,

could you elaborate a little more on that integration. I don't seem to be able to link evernote notes into my MM8.

Thanks,

kitus ... since the evernote web is web based, you can access anything from the browser embedded in the MM8 ... what I do is have a general link so I can get to evernote web at any time or you can have a specific item referenced ... either way is works well .... I use my desktop evernote to clip things to and then have everything in the cloud within the evernote web ...

Hello Alan,

right, so it is not a complete integration between the two apps then, it is just a regular internet link...
Now I'm experiencing troubles with the embedded browser in MM8 as it complains about an unsopported browser... are you also experiencing this problems?

thanks for your time!!! :)

P.S.: Are you by any chance a ResultsManager user?

kitus, yes a link ... I use links extensively to create dashboards ... truly a time saver when you are working on sources from many places ...

no probs with my browser ... did you contact support ... have not had any problems like what you are describing

I have ResultsManager but do not use it actively ....

This is great but I can't add a link to a specific entry. Even if I have the entry in the MM8 browser and click the 'Add to map' button it just adds a link to the notebook. Could you explain how to link to an entry please. Thanks.

Hi UKMontana ... what I would do if I wanted a specific entry ... I would print a pdf and just attach to the branch ... works in a lot of static uses ...
